Constantia Flexibles wins two prestigious Goldpack Awards for revamped iconic chocolate bar packaging from Mondelēz in South Africa

 

P. S. Bar - an iconic South African Brand - has been completely revamped in terms of wrapper design and significantly extends shelf life from seven to twelve months. The new material additionally boosts customer engagement, improves runnability on the filling line and is aesthetically superior and fully recyclable.


For this outstanding project with Mondelēz, Constantia Flexibles received two awards: a Silver Award in the overall Food category and a Gold Award in the Judges Special Mention Category. The award winners were announced at the IPSA Gold Pack Awards, South Africa’s most prestigious event on the packaging calendar, on November 22 in Sandton, South Africa.


“Through clever use of the materials and nine-color reverse print, a satin metallic gold effect is achieved, which contrasts strikingly with the opaque matt background, induced through the use of Matte BOPP film,” said Nicholas John, Vice President, Sales at Constantia Flexibles, Pinetown, South Africa. “The famous P.S. Bar slogans are now vibrant, color-rich and communicate the message more effectively. The integration of an interactive quick response code on the wrapper allows consumers to send unique messages to their friends via the Mondelēz website.”
