Ladies & Gentlemen, Dear Business Partner,
First of all, we would like to thank you for your support and collaboration during these difficult times. It has been a priority for us to maintain continuous and transparent communication with our customers and suppliers during the crisis and we will continue to do so as usual.
A wide range of measures, especially on plant level, have been implemented throughout the crisis helping us to maintain the supply chain intact. With governments initiating plans for the gradual re-opening of society, those of us who have been able to work from the confinements of our homes will gradually move back to working from our offices.
In general, the precautions and measures implemented at our sites have proved effective. Despite a surge in demand, shortage of raw material and logistical challenges, we have succeeded in fulfilling our contractual obligations without outages or long delays. On personnel level, we have only had a few positive COVID-19 cases so far and with the appropriate response we have managed to contain the spread, while all affected have returned healthy and safely back to work.
During the lock down we focused on keeping our global supply chain running uninterrupted and we have largely succeeded in that to the extend the local authorities have allowed. This has resulted in costs that we have largely absorbed, but certain costs will be needed to pass on. We will now re-direct our focus on strengthening and improving our supply chain in anticipation for future challenges.
The unexpectedly broad magnitude of the crisis has occupied a lot of our attention in the past couple of months, we all need to remember that we will still face environmental challenges after the crisis. For that reason, we have kept our sight on the future by continuing our development of our sustainable product range during the lock down period.
