New Plastics Economy Global Commitment
Progress report published
For several years, Constantia Flexibles has been an active member of the New Plastics Economy, a global initiative with the vision to create a circular economy for plastics. As we are committed to playing our part to contribute to the transition from a linear to a circular economy, we extended our participation in the New Plastics Economy initiative for the next 3 years, until 2022.
In addition to working in different pioneer projects on topics such as improved sortability of plastic packaging, Constantia Flexibles has signed the Global Commitment in 2018, pledging that 100% of its packaging will be recyclable by 2025. The commitment calls on companies and governments to eliminate the plastic we don't need, to innovate so that all plastic we do need is 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable, and to circulate all the plastic we use. In the meantime, more than 400 organizations worldwide have signed the Global Commitment and have set ambitious targets.
The first annual Global Commitment progress report was just published by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and UN Environment at the 2019 Our Ocean conference. Learn more about what we, and others around the world, are doing to make a circular economy for plastics reality: Click here!
