Uniting for safety: The 2nd Aluminum Division Safety Day
Recently, the Aluminum Division held its 2nd Safety Day, hosted by Constantia ColorCap. This event, initiated by the new Aluminum Division Leadership in 2023, focuses on enhancing safety through sharing experiences and networking within the Division.
Safety Day is a key opportunity for Heads of Plants and HSSE Managers to meet in person, beyond their regular monthly calls. This year, the event saw a larger turnout as Daniel Winkler invited the entire Divisional Leadership Team. The agenda included HSSE leadership training, standards for machinery safety and die cutters, 6S training, knife management and outlines of safe cutting practices and knife/PPE standards, and an update on the Blue Willis Audit with preparation for the next stage. The event also featured a comprehensive shop floor tour, focusing on the new production and storage hall.
The Safety Day was a great success. It not only outlined clear steps for further improving our safety performance but also fostered a sense of unity and collaboration within the team. Participants left with a renewed commitment to safety and a stronger connection to their colleagues, creating a more cohesive and motivated Aluminum Division.
Next year's Safety Day will be hosted by Constantia Alucap.
Safety is our top priority, and HSSE holds significant importance to us. We continually strive to enhance our safety standards and foster a strong sense of team spirit. By working together, we ensure a safer and more cohesive Aluminum Division.
